**Family of Late Gertrude Essie Quashigah Responds to Allegations**
The family of the late Gertrude Essie Quashigah has condemned remarks made by Sarah Adwoa Safo. Safo, a former minister, claimed in a radio interview that Quashigah mismanaged the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP). Her children have denied these claims in a statement issued yesterday.
The statement was signed by Isaac Aidoo, Esq., on behalf of the family. It expresses sadness and disappointment over Safo's allegations regarding their mother’s work with GSFP.
Gertrude Essie Quashigah served as National Coordinator from 2019 until her passing in 2023. The family states she performed her duties with integrity and dedication. Under her leadership, the programme expanded significantly, benefiting many Ghanaian schoolchildren.
The family finds it painful that such accusations arise when she cannot defend herself. These remarks have caused distress to her children and those who respected her contributions.
They are particularly disheartened due to the historical ties between their families. Their late father, Major Courage Quashigah (Rtd), had a relationship with Safo’s father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo. This connection makes the allegations even more disappointing.
The family respectfully calls on Sarah Adwoa Safo to retract her statement and apologize unconditionally. They urge her to stop casting doubt on their mother's legacy. The family asks her to consider the pain these remarks have caused them and others who cherish Madam Gertrude Quashigah's memory.
Finally, they encourage all Ghanaians to honor Madam Gertrude Quashigah’s life and work. She dedicated herself to improving the lives of Ghanaian children and serving her nation.
Signed,
Isaac Aidoo, Esq.
