After 38 years of dedicated service, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has retired from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
A farewell parade and pull-out ceremony at Burma Camp in Accra honored his contributions.
Dressed in ceremonial attire, he was received by senior officers, government officials, and dignitaries. He officially handed over command to Major General William Agyapong, ensuring a smooth transition.
Commissioned in 1986, General Oppong-Peprah held key command positions and contributed to national security and UN peacekeeping missions.
Reflecting on his tenure, he highlighted GAF’s expanded capabilities and commitment to democracy.
Expressing gratitude to personnel, he urged continued professionalism under the new leadership. Confident in GAF’s future, he emphasized the military’s crucial role in national security and stability.
