The National Identification Authority (NIA) has strongly condemned alleged corrupt practices by its staff during the Ghana Card registration process, following complaints from applicants about extortion and misconduct.

In a statement dated March 18, 2025, the NIA described these actions as unlawful and unethical, emphasizing its commitment to upholding integrity in service delivery.

The Authority assured the public that all allegations would be thoroughly investigated, with culprits facing disciplinary actions, including dismissal and legal prosecution.

The NIA reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for corruption, stressing that no staff member is permitted to solicit bribes, gifts, or favors in exchange for services.

It urged the public to report any misconduct via its official contact channels, pledging to ensure a fair and transparent registration process.
