Ghana-Chad game pitch invader to serve 100 days in prison

Mohammed Huzeinu will spend 100 days in prison. This is a penalty for invading the pitch during Ghana's match against Chad. The game was part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Huzeinu, who is 21 years old, ran onto the field. This act breaches security rules set by CAF.

His actions may lead to a fine for the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The sentence serves as a strong warning to fans before future matches.

The GFA stated, "We urge fans to avoid such actions." They stressed the need for discipline and following match day protocols. This helps prevent fines and protects Ghana’s reputation in international football.

In 2020, Ghana faced a $10,000 fine. This was due to another fan invasion during an AFCON qualifier against South Africa. That incident took place in Cape Coast in November 2019.
