Czech President H.E. Petr Pavel is on a historic visit to Ghana. On day two, he led a delegation of Czech defense businesses to the Ministry of Defence in Accra. They aimed to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in defense and security.
This engagement supports President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for foreign direct investment (FDI). The goal is to boost economic growth and create jobs in Ghana.
Discussions focused on enhancing defense diplomacy, technology transfer, and industrial partnerships. These efforts aim to improve Ghana's defense infrastructure capacity.
They paid special attention to collaborating with the Defence Industries Holding Company (DIHOC). DIHOC is developing ventures in agriculture, manufacturing, and other strategic industries.
Officials from both countries committed to building sustainable partnerships. These partnerships will enhance national security and stimulate economic development.
The visit marks a significant step in expanding Ghana-Czech relations. It signals Ghana’s renewed appeal as an investment destination.
“Ghana is open for business once again,” said Minister for Defence Dr. Edward Omane Boamah. He emphasized the country’s readiness for credible foreign partnerships that support industrial growth.
President Pavel's state visit will continue with more engagements. These will strengthen ties in trade, technology, education, and security cooperation.
