Ghana Export – Import Bank (GEXIM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi EXIM Bank. This event took place on Monday, May 26. The signing occurred in Côte d’Ivoire during the 2025 African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings.
GEXIM's Chief Executive, Sylvester A. Mensah, and Saudi EXIM Bank's CEO, His Excellency Saad Alkhalb, signed the agreement. The MoU aims to promote exports between Ghana and Saudi Arabia. It includes sharing information, best practices, and capacity building.
The agreement also explores credit lines, project financing, and transactional guarantees. Mr. Mensah expressed his pleasure in signing this strategic MoU. He emphasized its importance for cooperation between the two banks.
He noted that the focus for GEXIM over the next four years will be on food production and agro-processing. This aligns with President John Mahama's vision for a resilient economy and job creation.
Mr. Mensah looks forward to unlocking opportunities for businesses in both countries. His Excellency Saad Alkhalb highlighted the importance of strengthening relations between Saudi Arabia and Ghana. He committed to fully implementing the MoU for mutual benefit.
The GEXIM team included Isaac Amissah-Aidoo, Jonathan Christopher Koney, and Marcus Garvey Adampah.
