The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) has firmly denied recent corruption and sabotage allegations, calling them "false and mischievous."
The GMA clarified that its licensing decisions for Seafarer Recruitment and Placement Services (SRPS) providers follow strict regulatory standards, ensuring transparency and fairness.
Accusations of favoring foreign partners over local ones were dismissed, with the GMA emphasizing its commitment to a level playing field.
The Authority also urged the public to report any exploitation in the industry, pledging to uphold international standards and protect maritime workers’ rights while maintaining a transparent sector.
