Ghana Meteo warns of afternoon rainstorm in Accra, Central and Volta Regions

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a weather alert.

They forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms and rainstorms today, April 29, 2025.

This warning follows an active rainstorm affecting the northern and transition belts.

The storm is expected to move southward. It will bring increased cloudiness and potential thunderstorms or rain.

Coastal areas like Accra, Cape Coast, Takoradi, and parts of the Volta Region may see this later today.

Weather data shows Accra, Kasoa, and Cape Coast have a 40% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.

The public is cautioned about moderate to strong winds. There is also a risk of localized flooding in parts of the northern sector.

Residents in low-lying areas should take precautionary measures. These conditions may pose risks to life and property.

Meanwhile, the state of the sea remains rough.
