Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Samuel Nartey George, praised a new partnership with the UAE. He called it a turning point for Ghana's digital future.
The signing took place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Accra. The Minister described the initiative as a bold step toward innovation. It aims to build a self-sustaining ecosystem powered by Ghanaian talent.
“This hub will connect investment with creativity,” he said. It will provide opportunities for Ghana's youth to innovate and develop advanced technologies.
“It is about creating a nation where our brightest minds find opportunities at home,” he added.
The agreement was signed between Ghana and the UAE’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC). This lays the groundwork for the Ghana-UAE Innovations and Technology Hub.
This initiative is part of Ghana’s digital transformation strategy. It aims to position the country as a leader in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
“To our vibrant tech community, this is your platform,” Sam George stated.
He emphasized that ideas, startups, research, and courage will bring it to life. “We are fostering a digital renaissance led by Ghanaians for Ghanaians.”
Once operational, the hub will attract global tech companies looking to expand in Africa. It is expected to create jobs and foster innovation.
The MoU was signed by Sam George for Ghana and Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem for the UAE.
