Ghana Water Company sacks November 2024 recruits amid post-election review

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has dismissed all employees recruited in November 2024 and deployed across various regions.

Additionally, staff who were not on the payroll as of January 2025 have also been affected.

A letter signed by Acting Managing Director Adam Mutawakilu on February 11, 2025, stated that the decision was to facilitate a thorough audit of the recruitment process.

The directive follows an alleged order from the Chief of Staff to terminate all appointments made after the December 7 elections.

The move has sparked concerns, as affected workers face uncertainty regarding their employment status.
