Ghana can build a strong and fair health system, according to Dr. Koku Awoonor-Williams. He is the Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Awoonor-Williams believes Ghana can meet current and future health needs. The country has developed innovative approaches over the years.
He highlighted several initiatives, including the Ghana Essential Health Intervention Programme (GEHIP). Other initiatives include strengthening Community-based Health and Planning Services (CHIPS+). Digital health and emergency care programs are also part of these efforts.
Dr. Awoonor-Williams spoke at a conference in Accra yesterday. The theme was “Advancing Evidence-Based Innovation for Strengthening Health Systems in Africa.” He is also a Public Health Consultant and Health Systems Policy Analyst.
