The Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending Project (GIRSAL) announced exciting news.
Chilli pepper exports from Ghana could generate over $30 million in three years. This initiative aims to train farmers to produce 30 hectares of Chilli peppers for export.
Farmers will learn how to meet quality standards for exporting their products. Samuel Yeboah, GIRSAL's Chief Operating Officer, shared details at a press conference.
He stated that the first phase will bring in $3 million in revenue. Farmers involved will receive training to improve their production methods. They will learn to grow chilies safely and efficiently.
Yeboah expressed hope that chili exports could reach $20-30 million in three years. This effort supports the government’s goal of boosting export development. GIRSAL plans to collaborate with government agencies to achieve these targets.
