The Ministry of Health has announced a new initiative. This program will integrate digital technology into dental care in Ghana.
The announcement was made at the Ghana International Dental Scientific Conference. This event took place on Wednesday, May 28. The theme was “Current Trends in Dental Science.”
The initiative aims to improve dental care quality. It will use tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 3D imaging. These technologies will enhance diagnosis, treatment, and access to oral health services.
Dr. Ernest Konadu Asiedu spoke on behalf of the Minister of Health. He highlighted the potential of digital dentistry. He said, “Digital impressions, 3D printing, and tele-dentistry are enhancing precision.”
Dr. Asiedu also mentioned that this initiative won't just focus on cities. Plans include extending the program to schools and rural areas. This ensures all Ghanaians can access quality oral healthcare.
