Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, congratulated Pope Leo XIV. He is the 267th Bishop of Rome and leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
Dr. Boamah shared his message on Facebook. He praised the new Pontiff, formerly Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost. The minister highlighted his deep spirituality and vast knowledge.
“We trust you'll lead Holy Mother Church with your amazing depth,” he wrote. This was shortly after the Vatican announced the election.
Dr. Boamah thanked the College of Cardinals as well. “Thanks, Conclave, for giving us Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost,” he said.
Pope Leo XIV succeeds Pope Francis. He is expected to focus on spiritual renewal, social justice, and global peace.
