Alhaji Masawud Osman, the National Third Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), criticized National Security Operations. He spoke out against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what he calls growing impunity and abuse of power.
Osman made these comments on the Adwenekasa show, aired on Original TV and FM. He expressed concern about individuals acting under national security who harass citizens. He believes these actions threaten Ghana’s democracy and civil freedoms.
He stated, “Anyone who invades my house without permission will face consequences.” This highlights his disapproval of lawless behavior disguised as authority. Osman referenced a recent incident at Rev. Ntim Fordjour's home, where unknown individuals fled before he arrived.
He described this as part of a troubling pattern that needs urgent attention. “You can’t just abuse people in the name of National Security,” he emphasized. Osman called these acts unjust, undemocratic, and dangerous.
He warned the NDC to be cautious about their actions. “Ransacking, invading, and abusing people will not help our democracy,” he said. His remarks have sparked renewed debate about how National Security operatives conduct themselves.
Osman's warning reflects broader concerns about human rights protection and democratic norms in civil society.
