Ghana to issue FLEGT licence by June 30… first in Africa - Lands Minister

Ghana plans to issue its first Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) License by June 30, 2025. This license will confirm that Ghana's forest products come from legal sources.

If successful, Ghana will be the first African country to achieve this. It will also be the second country in the world to do so. The Minister of Lands and Forestry, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, shared this news.

He made the announcement during a meeting with European Union Ambassador Mr. Irchad Razaaly on Thursday. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Ghana and the EU. They also discussed potential areas for further collaboration.
