The US Embassy in Accra reports a significant rise in Ghanaian visa applications, tripling since 2019 and outpacing increased processing resources.
While this surge reflects strong interest in US travel, it has created a backlog.
Starting August 16, all visa applications will migrate to a new system, temporarily halting new appointments and customer service until August 26.
Applicants with interviews before August 16 should print their appointment confirmation.
Those with interviews between August 16-26 must attend as scheduled, and after August 26, applicants will use the new system for managing appointments.
The Embassy advises timely actions to avoid disruptions.
