Ghanaian restaurant in US seized by government over unpaid taxes

Ghanaian Restaurant in the US Seized Over Unpaid Taxes

A Ghanaian restaurant in the US has been seized by a state agency. The reason for the seizure is unpaid taxes.

The restaurant, called Accra Girls, is located on Grafton Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was known for its Ghanaian cuisine.

Two signs on the building's windows confirmed the seizure. Emmanuel Larbi and Manasseh Konabu co-own Accra Girls but have not commented.

Accra Girls opened in 2017, according to a profile by the Worcester Business Journal. The restaurant's Instagram page describes its service as “hospitality on a plate.”

It offers popular Ghanaian dishes like Jollof rice and Banku.
