A Worcester restaurant known for Ghanaian cuisine has been seized.
The Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) took action due to unpaid taxes.
Accra Girls, located at 1280 Grafton Street, is now closed.
Two orange notices were posted on the building's windows.
These notices state that the state has taken possession over tax non-payment.
Co-owners Emmanuel Larbi and Manasseh Konabu have not commented yet.
The DOR also declined to discuss the timing of the seizure.
Accra Girls opened in 2017 and offers authentic Ghanaian dishes.
The Worcester Business Journal has highlighted its cuisine.
According to its Instagram page, the restaurant provides “hospitality on a plate.”
Menu items include Jollof rice, Banku, boiled yam, and spinach stew.
