Ghanaian youngster Mohammed Sofo scores in New York Red Bulls penalties win over FC Dallas

Ghanaian youngster Mohammed Sofo had a great game for New York Red Bulls. He scored in the US Open Cup win over FC Dallas.

Sofo's goal came in the second half. The match eventually went to penalties, and New York won.

This was Sofo's second start in the cup competition. He had scored twice in the previous round against Switchbacks FC.

Dallas took the lead after 28 minutes with a goal from Bernard Kamungo.

After halftime, Sofo scored to level the game. It was his last touch before being replaced by Emil Forsberg.

Luciano Acosta then restored Dallas's lead. However, Forsberg scored in extra time to tie it again.

The match ended 2-2 after extra time. In the penalty shootout, New York Red Bulls triumphed, scoring four of five kicks.

Sofo's goal means he has contributed to five goals in nine appearances this season.
