Hon. Kennedy Nyarko Osei is the Chairman of Parliament's Roads and Transport Committee. He has promised to seek answers about a controversial aircraft that landed in Ghana. This aircraft later left for Spain.
In a Facebook post, he emphasized that the Committee will demand full disclosure from the Minister of Transport. This follows two mysterious flights: an air ambulance and a private jet. These flights raised concerns as they stayed in Ghana for several days before heading to Gran Canaria.
Kennedy Nyarko Osei stated that the Committee has prepared over a dozen tough questions for the Minister. They want to know the exact passenger manifest and the purpose of their travel. He also asked if their flight plans changed mid-air.
The MP questioned why a private jet was used to transport spare parts. He wondered if these parts were declared in the cargo manifest. "Couldn’t they have gotten some of the parts in Ghana?" he asked.
He added that Ghanaians deserve to know who authorized maintenance works and where it took place. They also need to know if aviation procedures were followed properly.
His comments follow allegations by MP John Ntim Fordjour. Fordjour suspects that the planes might be linked to drug trafficking or money laundering activities.
