Ghanaians’ displeasure with NPP leadership facilitated NDC win – Hassan Ayariga

Hassan Ayariga Hassan Ayariga

Hassan Ayariga, leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured its dominant victory in the 2024 elections not just due to its campaign, but because of widespread dissatisfaction with the leadership of the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

Ayariga compared the outcome to the 2016 elections, where many voters turned to the opposition after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) failed to meet their expectations.

During a courtesy call on President-elect John Dramani Mahama, Ayariga noted that voter apathy had risen significantly, with many Ghanaians disengaging from politics.

He emphasized the importance of the NDC delivering on its promises to ensure long-term stability for multi-party democracy and address the issues that led to widespread voter discontent.
