Dr. Clement Apaak, MP for Builsa South, has urged Ghanaians to hold the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accountable in the 2024 elections for distributing expired rice to Senior High Schools.
This follows allegations by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, that 22,000 bags of expired rice were repackaged and dispatched to schools, with the National Food Buffer Stock Company and Lamens Investments Africa Limited implicated.
Dr. Apaak criticized Dr. Bawumia’s pledge to investigate the issue only if elected president, questioning why no immediate action has been taken.
Meanwhile, Kwadwo Poku, a Bawumia campaign team member, urged against politicizing the issue, stating the matter lies with state agencies and technocrats, not politicians. He emphasized the need for a thorough criminal investigation.
