Ghanaian citizens can now travel to Morocco without traditional visas. This change comes from a new agreement between Ghana and Morocco.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, announced this on Facebook. The policy takes immediate effect and replaces the old visa system.
Travelers can now obtain an online travel authorization within 24 hours. This process eliminates the need for embassy appointments. It makes travel between Ghana and Morocco faster and easier.
Ablakwa mentioned that this agreement was reached during his visit with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. Direct flights already exist between the two countries, with more expected soon.
Officials believe the visa waiver will boost trade, tourism, and connections between Ghana and Morocco. Ablakwa emphasized that African borders should connect people rather than divide them.
