Ghanaians should report drug couriers - Patrick Agyapong

Patrick Agyapong, a Narcotics Control Officer, urges Ghanaians to report drug couriers.

He spoke on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show with Asieduwaa Akumia. Mr. Agyapong asked people to watch for those importing narcotics illegally.

“When you see someone using illegal routes, please alert us,” he said.

To combat drug abuse in Ghana, Assistant Narcotics Control Officer Nicholas Tukun shared their efforts. The commission works with various agencies to educate youth about narcotics.

He mentioned that counseling services are available for individuals who abuse drugs. This helps them understand the need to reduce or quit entirely.

Mr. Tukun emphasized that individuals must be willing to stop using drugs. Family support is also crucial for recovery.

Clara Botchway, a Senior Narcotics Control Officer, advised the public to seek medical help when sick. She warned against relying on friends for drug recommendations due to potential health risks.
