Gifty Oware’s husband detained by NIB over NSS case – PK Sarpong alleges

Patrick Kwarteng Sarpong, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has raised concerns. He is worried about the detention of Peter Mensah. Peter is the husband of Gifty Oware Aboagye Mensah.

Sarpong posted on social media that Peter was picked up by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). This happened during investigations into the National Service Scheme (NSS) controversy.

He stated that Peter's detention followed Gifty’s hospitalization. “He was detained in his wife’s stead,” Sarpong wrote. The NIB told him they needed his help since Gifty could not assist.

Sarpong claimed the NIB knew about Gifty’s medical condition. They had tried to take her from the hospital but were advised against it by doctors.

“The NIB sought to pick her up at the hospital,” he said. “Doctors cautioned against same.”

Sarpong also questioned why people are being detained without formal charges. He noted that no charges have been filed against Gifty or her colleagues involved in the NSS issue.

“Not a single charge has been filed against them,” he added.
