Gold Coast Refinery offers govt 15% carried interest

Gold Coast Refinery is the largest refinery in West Africa.

It has offered 15 percent of its profits to the government. This contribution aims to improve the country’s gold sector.

The Gold Board will manage this carried interest for the country. This gesture recognizes the government's support during the refinery's establishment. It also aims to streamline gold trade across the entire value chain.

Dr. Saed Darez, the Board Chairman and CEO, made this announcement. He spoke during a visit from Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the defunct Precious Minerals Marketing Company. The meeting took place at his office in Accra on Wednesday.
