Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has donated a Smart Laboratory and Innovation Centre to Atuabo Basic School. The donation is valued at $68,000. This school is located in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem municipality of the Western Region.
The new facility will help students gain hands-on training. It aims to nurture creativity and problem-solving skills. Additionally, it prepares students for their future careers.
The center includes 50 high-performance tablets with a charging cabinet. It also features 20 coding and robotics kits, two Lego Prime robotics kits, and 10 Arduino kits. There are three Quest Virtual Reality headsets, two laptops for instructors, a projector, and an internet router.
Besides teaching essential computational skills, the center will offer training to pupils from all 10 basic schools in the area. Interested adults can also enroll in courses on basic robotics and AI for a fee.
