The Ghana Gold Board, along with National Security, has arrested three Indian nationals. They were involved in illegal gold trading. This brings the total number of foreigners arrested to six.
The police reported that the arrests took place in Anyinam. This town is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. During the operation, authorities seized gold bars, cash, and money-counting machines.
This recent arrest follows another on April 29, 2025. Three other Indian nationals were arrested then as well. This occurred before the Ghana Gold Board announced that foreign nationals must leave Ghana’s gold trading market.
Prince Minkah is the Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Gold Board. He stated that the three recently arrested individuals will face legal action.
