Energy Minister John Jinapor Downplays Power Crisis Fears
Energy Minister John Jinapor has reassured the public about power supply stability. He stated there is no imminent power crisis in Ghana. This comes amid concerns over fuel stock levels.
Jinapor spoke to Citi News about the government's efforts. He emphasized that they are taking proactive steps to ensure stable power supply.
Recent reports indicated Ghana has only 2.6 days of fuel stock left for power generation. Jinapor confirmed this figure but provided good news as well.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Finance has helped procure 450,000 barrels of light crude oil. This shipment is expected to arrive this weekend.
Jinapor described the situation as under control and dismissed fears of a nationwide shortage. He reassured citizens not to panic, stating, “We will be okay.”
