Gov't to reimburse academic fees for 1st-year university students under ‘No-Fees-Stress’ policy

The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced a new plan. They will reimburse academic user fees for first-year students. This applies to those enrolled in accredited diploma or degree programs at public tertiary institutions. The initiative is for the 2024/2025 academic year.

This program is called the No-Fees-Stress policy. It will start next month, following directives from the Ministry of Education.

The SLTF states that this move shows the government's commitment to higher education. It aims to invest in the nation’s human capital.

The reimbursement will help new students manage rising education costs. It also aims to create an inclusive environment for all qualified students.

Students can apply through the official No-Fees-Stress application portal: https://nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh. Each application will be checked against admission data from recognized institutions.

This process ensures transparency and efficiency in handling applications. The SLTF encourages all eligible students to apply quickly for their reimbursement.

“We urge all first-year students to apply promptly,” said the statement.
