Gov’t imposes curfew on Binduri

The Ministry of Interior has imposed a curfew in Binduri Township.

This curfew applies to the surrounding areas in the Upper East Region.

It will be in effect from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am starting Monday, March 24, 2025.

The announcement urged Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, and Youth to remain calm.

They are encouraged to use non-violent methods to promote peace.

The Minister for the Interior made this decision based on advice from regional security councils.

The government calls on community leaders and residents to exercise restraint during these challenges.

There is also a total ban on carrying arms or offensive weapons in Binduri Township.

Men wearing smocks and riding motorbikes are included in this ban.

Anyone found with weapons will be arrested and prosecuted.
