Gov’t’s sacking of post-Dec. 7 employees justifiable – Rodaline Ayarna

Public Interest Advocate Rodaline Imoru Ayarna has defended the government’s decision to terminate the employment of individuals hired after the December 7 elections, citing economic realities and governance norms.

Speaking on Newsfile, she argued that last-minute recruitments by an outgoing administration raise concerns, especially when the government had eight years to create jobs.

She also highlighted irregularities in the hiring process, including missing application letters and backdated records, labeling them as acts of criminality.

While acknowledging the distress of affected employees, Ayarna advised them to reapply through the proper channels rather than insist on retaining positions obtained under questionable circumstances.
