Government commits to completion of Boankra Inland Port

The Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) is committed to completing the Boankra Inland Port project. This project is located in the Ashanti region. It aims to improve the movement of goods to northern Ghana and other West African countries.

Prof. Ransford Gyampo, CEO of GSA, stated that the government supports this initiative. He acknowledged that there are challenges but remains optimistic about completion.

The Boankra Integrated Logistics and Terminal (BILT) project is a key initiative for Ghana. It will serve as a logistics and transportation hub. The local company Justmoh Construction Limited is executing the project.

This initiative aims to reduce congestion at Tema Port. It will also enhance cargo handling efficiency and provide a one-stop facility for importers, exporters, and logistics providers.

During a site inspection, Prof. Gyampo expressed satisfaction with progress made so far. He assured that the government would address any legitimate concerns regarding the project.

His comments reflect concerns about past projects being abandoned after government changes. He believes such initiatives should be seen as national priorities beyond politics.

The Boankra Inland Port project could significantly boost Ghana's economy. It will enhance trade and commerce once completed.

The facility will offer services like warehousing, container storage, and customs clearance. Additionally, it is expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in surrounding communities.

The GSA is collaborating closely with contractors and stakeholders to keep the project on track.

Dr. Justice Amoh, CEO of Justmoh Construction Limited, requested timely financial support during an interview after a site meeting with GSA.

He mentioned that financial constraints have slowed down progress on the work.

Project Consultant Dr. J.B. Koranteng-Yorke noted that phase one is nearing completion. He added that contractors need to enhance some facilities in phase one to meet international standards.
