Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has directed heads of government institutions to provide detailed staff information for employees added to payrolls since December 7, 2024.
The directive, outlined in a January 15 letter, is part of efforts by the John Mahama administration to ensure transparency and integrity in government payroll management.
Institutions must submit details such as staff names, job titles, appointment dates, and payroll addition dates by January 31, 2025.
Mr. Debrah emphasized the importance of the exercise in curbing inefficiencies and eliminating ghost names from the payroll.
He assured stakeholders of support during the process and urged prompt compliance to prevent financial leakages.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to optimizing public sector financial management.
