The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has received an additional GH₵35 million from the government through the Ministry of Education to support its operations.
This funding aims to ensure the smooth completion of the 2024 WASSCE marking process and expedite the release of results.
WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, confirmed the disbursement to Adom News, expressing optimism that the results could be released by December 2024.
This latest financial boost follows an earlier payment of GH₵50 million, reducing the government’s GH₵118 million debt to the Council.
The timely release of funds is expected to resolve WAEC's operational challenges and meet candidates' expectations.
