Govt’s indebtedness to GNPC balloons to $1.25 billion 

The government's debt to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has risen. As of December 2024, it stands at $1.25 billion. This information comes from the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC).

PIAC's 2021 annual report highlighted concerns about GNPC's finances. It noted that GNPC could not recover $126.68 million in budgeted revenue from loans and guarantees. This is part of a total of $318.09 million owed by the government since 20
