The government has praised the Ghana Bauxite Company in Awaso. They plan to build a refinery. This will add value to the country's natural resources. It will also contribute to economic growth.
Wilbert Petty Brentum, the Western North Regional Minister, spoke about the project. He said it would improve the company's efficiency. Additionally, it will create jobs for Awaso residents and nearby communities.
Mr. Brentum highlighted that this initiative supports the government's vision. The goal is to develop an integrated aluminum industry in Ghana. Using local bauxite deposits will reduce reliance on imported alumina. It will also strengthen domestic industries.
He made these comments at the opening of a Community Relations Office in Awaso. Mr. Brentum commended Ghana Bauxite Company’s management for their investments. These investments aim to enhance operational performance.
