The Ministry of Transport has started expanding Terminal 2 at Kotoka International Airport (KIA). This expansion aims to reduce congestion at Terminal 3 and improve airport efficiency.
Terminal 2 will now serve both domestic and international flights. The operations will be rolled out in two phases. This plan was announced by the Ministry and KIA management.
Transport Minister Joseph Nikpe Bukari visited the airport to discuss the project. He emphasized its importance for handling more passengers and cargo.
He noted that Terminal 3 experiences heavy congestion during peak hours. To address this, they are partitioning Terminal 2 into areas for domestic and international flights.
This change will help ease the load on Terminal 3. It aims to create a more comfortable space for travelers. The Ministry believes that the revamped Terminal 2 will enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency at Ghana’s busiest airport.
