The government has launched an eight-member Private Sector Participation (PSP) Steering Committee.
This committee will oversee the reintroduced Multiple Lease Model (MLM). The MLM aims to transform electricity distribution in Ghana.
The MLM divides electricity distribution into regional units. Various private operators will manage these units. This approach seeks to attract credible investors and enhance efficiency.
It also aims to reduce technical and commercial losses. Improving customer satisfaction nationwide is another goal.
Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister of Energy and Green Transition, will chair the committee. Mr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance, will serve as co-chair.
Other members include Madam Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Trade and Agribusiness. Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine is the Attorney General. Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu is the Minister of State for Government Communications.
