Govt must prioritise dualisation of Accra-Kumasi Highway - Mr Asenso-Boakye - Ghanaian Times

In a recent statement, Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister for Works and Housing, emphasized the urgent need for the government to prioritize the dualization of the Accra-Kumasi highway. He highlighted that this critical infrastructure project is essential for enhancing road safety and improving transportation efficiency between Ghana's two major cities.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye pointed out that the current state of the highway poses significant risks to motorists due to its high traffic volume and frequent accidents. The dualization initiative aims to alleviate these issues by creating separate lanes for vehicles traveling in opposite directions, thereby reducing congestion and minimizing collision risks.

Furthermore, he urged stakeholders and relevant authorities to collaborate effectively in expediting the project's implementation. By prioritizing this dualization effort, the government can not only enhance road safety but also stimulate economic growth through improved connectivity between Accra and Kumasi, ultimately benefiting both regions significantly.
