The government has reported progress in its debt restructuring talks. This involves external creditors and follows the G20 Common Framework.
On May 29, 2025, the Ministry of Finance released a statement. They emphasized that no creditor received preferential treatment. This aligns with the principle of Comparability of Treatment.
The Ministry confirmed adherence to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with official creditors. The government has also maintained arrears with all external creditors involved in the restructuring.
The government expressed gratitude to its international partners. It aims to reach an agreement that benefits all stakeholders.
“The Government remains committed to a fair resolution,” the statement said. They thanked their partners for their cooperation and support.
