Govt releases GH¢265.2m for LEAP beneficiaries - Ghanaian Times

The government has released GH¢265,220,000 for the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme. This amount will benefit 350,000 households in the 94th and 95th joint cycles.

The funds will be disbursed this week. Payments will go through Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlements Systems (GHIPSS). Beneficiaries will receive the money in their E-Zwich accounts across 260 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

LEAP is a cash transfer programme started by the government in 2008. It aims to support extremely poor and vulnerable households. The goal is to reduce poverty and improve access to services.

Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey announced this at a press conference in Accra on Friday. She provided updates on the LEAP grant payments to the media.
