The government plans to create a data exchange hub. This centralized platform will unify all data sources. It aims to support the country's Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives.
Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Mr. Samuel Nartey George, shared this news. He stated that the hub would reduce data fragmentation across institutions. It is also expected to boost the economy.
The Minister's speech was delivered by Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari. He is the Director General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT. This occurred at the opening of the first Ghana AI Summit and Awards in Accra.
The event is called the Ghana AI Summit and Awards 2025. Its theme is “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development: Hype or Reality?” Knowledge Innovations organized it in collaboration with Deloitte Ghana.
