‘Govt will ensure stricter supervision of sanitation activities’

Mr. Oti Bless is the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources. He stated that the government will supervise sanitation activities more strictly. This aims to ensure that investments in the sector produce results.

He emphasized that sanitation issues will no longer be ignored. Mr. Bless promised to advocate for urgent reforms in accountability and performance.

He mentioned that Parliament, through the Committee, will support service providers in fulfilling their responsibilities. Technocrats at Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) will be involved from the beginning.

Mr. Bless shared this information during a working tour in Accra. The tour focused on gathering data about sanitation issues and meeting with waste management officials.
