Hon Kwaku Kwarteng, the MP for Obuasi West, believes politicians have failed entrepreneurs in Ghana.
He argues that governments have been inefficient, hurting local businesses.
Kwarteng discussed procurement breaches that have plagued various administrations. These issues prevent the government from supporting entrepreneurs effectively.
He emphasized the need for significant changes to promote prosperity in the country.
Kwarteng shared these views with TESCON members at the University of Cape Coast.
He stated, "We do not misuse our own revenue; we borrow instead."
He criticized a post-independence trend of borrowing and awarding contracts. This practice leads to kickbacks and harms the economy.
Kwarteng noted that this creates an unstable environment for entrepreneurs. As a result, economic growth is stunted and production remains low.
He expressed concern about finding jobs for graduates entering the workforce.
