Hajia4Reall to regain her freedom from US prison today

Ghanaian socialite and musician, Mona Faiz Montrage, known as Hajia4Reall, is set to be released today. She will leave the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia on May 22, 2025.

Hajia4Reall completed her sentence of one year and one day. This sentence was for her role in a romance scam. After her release, she is expected to return to Ghana.

A US court granted her appeal for deportation several months ago. Hajia4Reall pleaded guilty to defrauding individuals and businesses from 2013 to 2019. She served her time at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia.

Her legal team submitted a request on November 1, 2024. They argued that the document was needed for self-deportation proceedings. Prosecutors did not oppose this application.

US District Judge J. Paul Oetken approved the request. He directed that her passport be given to her lawyers. This ruling allows Hajia4Reall to return to Ghana after completing her sentence.

She was sentenced in June 2024 for involvement in a romance scam. Hajia4Reall was arrested in the UK on November 11, 2022, during the Ghana Music Awards UK event. She was extradited to the US in May 2023.
