Recent corruption allegations have cast a shadow over Haruna Iddrisu, the Tamale South MP and Education Minister-designate, linking him to the Ghana Infrastructure Company (GIC).
Reports claim that Iddrisu received bribes amounting to over US$2.5 million between 2015 and 2020.
This follows a confidential warning from IMANI Ghana’s Vice President, Bright Simons, regarding an unnamed individual facing adverse investigations.
Though Simons did not explicitly mention Iddrisu, these allegations have raised significant concerns.
In response, Haruna Iddrisu has vehemently denied the claims, describing them as false and politically motivated, aimed at tarnishing his reputation ahead of his upcoming role in the Mahama administration.
As speculation continues to mount, this controversy shines a spotlight on the integrity of ministerial appointments and the broader implications for Ghana’s political landscape.
