The recent altercation between the Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, and Emeafa Hardcastle, Acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission, has sparked strong reactions from political leaders.

This follows a comment by Hardcastle regarding Annoh-Dompreh, where she described his caucus as a "micro minority," stating, “You are a micro minority; what can you do?”

NDC’s Haruna Iddrisu, also the Minister for Information, condemned the alleged insults exchanged during the parliamentary sitting on Tuesday, January 28, urging unity in rejecting such behavior.

“We should not accept such conduct and insults,” he stated, emphasizing that anyone could be the target next.

In a personal plea to Annoh-Dompreh, Iddrisu appealed for forgiveness for Hardcastle, citing Ghana’s patriarchal values: “To the Honourable Minority Whip [Frank Annoh-Dompreh], I am pleading with you that, because she is a woman, and you know Ghanaian society and our patriarchal values, forgive her.”

Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah echoed this sentiment, suggesting that the women’s caucus guide Hardcastle on proper conduct.
