Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State for Government Communications, has accused Rev. John Ntim Fordjour of spreading misinformation. This concerns “suspicious aircraft” that landed at Kotoka International Airport.
On April 3, Kwakye Ofosu spoke about the issue. He noted that Fordjour distanced himself from his earlier claims after being invited to assist with investigations.
Kwakye Ofosu said, “He knew he was peddling total falsehoods and lies.” He added that Fordjour claimed he was speaking on behalf of his committee. Because of this, Fordjour said he could not cooperate with security agencies.
The controversy began when Fordjour demanded a briefing on two aircraft. These were AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B. He alleged they were transporting cocaine and cash into Ghana. His claims led President John Dramani Mahama to order a full investigation.
Kwakye Ofosu dismissed these allegations as baseless. He argued that Fordjour aimed to discredit the government. “The facts vary completely from the claims he made,” he stated. He believes Fordjour sought to undermine public confidence in the government.
